Super Saturday

Today was hilarious. The end..

Just kidding

So I had made friends with this girl and guy that work at a retail store on Wednesday, and I had been invited to a NUFC game that was today. I decided to go and it was great. I went for a morning run, got ready, got on the bus, and met them in Newcastle. People go to clubs at one in the afternoon , totally normal. I had a few drinks then we made our way to the game. Epic noise, and Newcastle actually managed to  win a game. Amazing!! The streets were FULL. everywhere. It was a great experience. I finally got on the bus, got home, and of course, my grandparents were still out. They are still out actually. Oh well. They party harder then me. it’s ok though. Now I just need to drink all of my hot water with lemon for the next few hours. I am still in shock !! holy cow.

today is not father’s day.

I Just watched the little girl across the street lose her balloon, and lost her mind right there in the middle of the road. The best part was her parents pointing and laughing at how high it’s going. haha

This week the gparents and I went to Scarborough on Monday. It was really nice. Tomorrow we are going to the dales, that should be fun too. I also sent my dad a fathers day card on Thursday because who knows how I got mixed up on google about  what day Father’s day is. So I can’t ever go back to that card store again that had gone in the back to bring me the box of the cards as I explained to them that the american day was this Sunday. I also called my dad, and he laughed at me. hahaha.

I finally went to the gym on Wednesday. I got dropped off at the Gatesead leisure center to buy a day pass, and i was unable to because I didn’t register for some stupid crap on the website that they don’t tell you about at all. So I walked to Newcastle in search of a public gym. I stopped into Powerhouse fitness and asked and they directed me to one that is on top of the mall and to look out for the creepers. Cool. I also got a Whey protein drink that was dairy, lactose, wheat, and sugar free. I don’t know what it was made of. They were right about the creepers. Oh well. I was able to do everything I wanted, plus have a few laughs. Someone wearing short shorts, toms, a v neck shirt, and doing power cleans in the middle of every ones way deserved to be judged. It’s crazy how much the cardio row machine kicks your butt when you haven’t done it in forEVER.

After the gym, I stopped by the Grainger market and got some lunch at a stall called “The Healthy Box” hehe, box. I got a couple beef burgers with chili sauce on top, some grilled veggies, and some sweet potato wedges. So good.

Then I decided that I was going to attempt to walk back home. I got to about three miles out and I had enough of walking. So I thought at least the bus will be cheaper since I am pretty much almost back. I saved 50p. fail.

Saturday I helped with the churches bake sale fundraiser. I helped organize all the baked things on trays ( I practically took over) and then went for a walk around chester-le-street. I bought an apple from a market stand, walked around, got tired of walking, and sat and drank tea and read my book. Then I went back to the church and helped them wash up and put stuff away. Having tasks is fun, I miss tasks.

Today I cooked a PaleOMG recipe and nailed it. It looks disgusting in the picture but it most definitely was NOT.  Cauliflower rice is the most simple thing ever, but don’t spill the crumbs, you will be sweeping for ever.Image

If anyone wants to make it their self, here is the recipe

(ps. this girl is my favorite person. shes soooo funny, especially when she dances in her cooking video.)

Tough Mudder Edinburgh this coming Saturday!!!!! AHHHH!!!!

I need to strap a map to my face

I went on the longest run of my life. Ten horrible miles. That is a walk in the park to a lot of people I know, but not me. My grandad gave me a good route to follow, and so of course I missed the first turn, and followed a nice walking path. Long story short, I was running in the grass next to roundabouts and endless neighborhoods. So I ended up at a B&Q (Home Depot) and bummed a ride from an innocent old man. I made it in time to get to my appointment to have my interview to get my National insurance number, and then stayed home, and didn’t leave my sofa chair. I now run out-and-back routes. Wednesday it was my grandad’s sister’s 84th birthday so she and her husband came over and we went to tynemouth. It was funny sitting dead center on a park bench between four 80 and up family members. We also watched a partial game of lawn bowling. I think all the players were also over eighty because none of them seemed to be able to pick up the ball on their own, and their “bowl” was like an arthritic toss. HA.

Yesterday I went to Durham on my own. I like Durham way better than Newcastle. It is a lot more peaceful. I went to a clothing store called Superdry and almost spent all my money. I even saw a DRESS that fit me for once. I ended up not buying anything, as usual. I do need to get more sophisticated clothing, since not everyone goes around in jeans and Tshirts. Maybe if I get a job. or job interview. yeah. Anyway, I walked down the road where the river is and a few of the colleges sports grounds are. I walked into a cricket game and sat and watched that for a bit. Too bad cricket is the most confusing sport I have ever witnessed. Holy crap. Then I left, and I sat at the front of the top level on the bus on the way home. Those bus drivers are ruthless and have nerves of STEEL.

Oh yeah, and in Durham I had this perfect paleo lunch without even having to make any changes. It was a bun less burger with a salad that used a touch of balsamic and actual vegetables. yaaaay.

This was my second Sunday where I make lunch for the G parents while they are at church. Last Sunday was a chicken and vegetable mix together in one pan looks like hell but tastes amazing kindof things.  Today I actually used a Paleo recipe from my book and made stuffed peppers. The recipe was supposed to be for bison, but ground beef works too.  I also felt like baking something, so I looked up a cookie recipe, and attempted  that. I got all the ingredients right, but I forgot to actually follow the directions on what goes first and all that, so the dough looked like sh. I needed to make the dough thicker, so I added who knows how much cocoa powder, and some of their muesli cereal. The first batch was too massive and was coming of the sides, and a few survived. I also cleaned the inside of the oven, like nothing happened. The second batch came out so they were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They liked both of the batches. Its like I know what I’m doing or something. Grandma can’t be fooled though, she has given me lessons on making scones, and my dough handling ability and rolling skills are “funny.” Happy Sunday.

Since me and my paleo ways have been here, my grandma has lost about two stone. So there will be a lot more baking on my part. ImageLook at these suckers!!

First Week, Done!

This was the first week just me and the G parents. We went to the lighthouse in Shields, and Durham Cathedral. We had lunch by the big river in Durham, and I was chased around by wasps the whole time. cool. The lighthouse was fun too. We also went into Newcastle on the bus, so that I could remember how to get there when I go by myself. I have been keeping up with the running, and it has gotten a little easier, and less effort to make myself go. I made an appointment for an interview to get my national insurance number, which is tomorrow. Hopefully that all works out. I went into downtown Newcastle by myself yesterday, and walked and walked and walked. All in the wrong places. I would start out where all the people were, then I would find myself just in the middle of buildings with no one around. I need to pay attention/ navigate better. I found my way back to where I was supposed to be, bought some veggies from one of the stands in a market, and sat and drank some tea. There is some really good people watching. It’s really weird how flocks of guys just show up. out of nowhere, just a group of 10-15 of them just come around the corner. Same with girls. there is maybe a dew couples here and there but that’s it. And they all smoke, a lot.

Today I made lunch for my grandparents. Just something that I would have made at home. It looked really gross but they liked it and even had seconds, yesssss.
